Wherever we are, at Michelin, we believe in respect. Respect for people, customers, shareholders, the environment and for facts. These historical values were formalised in 2002, forming the basis of the Michelin Performance and Responsibility Michelin (PRM) framework. As part of the PRM charter, we engage, support and interact with our local communities. Whether we’re climbing mountains, organising family fun days or getting our hands dirty with a spot of DIY – there are so many great activities and projects that our sta get involved in to show that we respect our communities.
INTRODUCTION TO PRM
Since the Michelin Group was founded in the late 1880s, respect for people has been a key responsibility of the company. The commitment to our five core values has resulted in the decision to draw up a formal ‘Michelin Performance and Responsibility Charter’. This now forms an integral part of all our day-to-day business activities.
- Respect for people
- Respect for customers
- Respect for shareholders
- Respect for the environment
- Respect for facts
As part of its value ‘respect for people’, Michelin plays an active role in the communities local to its activities.
Wherever we are, we have a role to play, a responsibility to accept by establishing ‘good neighbour’ relationships, by taking part in local life through training and development programmes, or through cultural and social exchanges.
Our aim
- To enrich the quality of life in the communities where we live and work
- To engage our employees in opportunities to positively contribute to the communities where we live and work
- To enhance education, the environment and safety within our local communities
Our core focus areas
Education
We are committed to developing creative thinkers for tomorrow’s workplace. We foster and support programmes that build reading, literacy and numeracy skills within local schools. We also promote scientific and technical professions and encourage youth development through sport and culture. We believe these programmes nurture creativity and develop important life and work skills.
MOBILITY, SAFETY
AND ENVIRONMENT
We are committed to support programmes that reduce the impact of our activities on the environment. In addition, we look to support programmes that sustain our natural environment and promote green
mobility. We work to educate, raise awareness of and sustain better mobility through road safety initiatives.
COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT:
HEALTH AND HUMAN
We are committed to supporting programmes that enrich the quality of life for individuals and our communities as a whole. Providing support in Health & Human services should be considered and we also believe the Arts and our heritage are a powerful way to expose people to dierent cultures and celebrate the diversity of all people.
